Introduction

Enjoy our hiking program to accent Mount Toubkal 4167m. This 05 Days/04 Night includes three days hiking to the summit of Toubkal, and one day of Marrakech sightseeing.
Toubkal Express tour will allow you to experience the climb of the highest peak in North Africa, besides, Enjoying the fascinating views of the Atlas Mountains, green valleys, and Berber villages. The itinerary has been designed for keen walkers, as the ascent is non-technical, but involves some easy scrambling and snow slopes. The views from the summit are amazing across the mountains to Marrakech to the north and the start of the Sahara to the south. All around are the jagged peaks of the High Atlas stretching as far as you can see in every direction.

Itinerary of the Trek

Day 1 : Join trip Marrakech

Arrive in Marrakech. If you would like to receive an airport transfer, our company will arrange for it. There are no activities planned for today. Our Tour Leader plans to meet you in the hotel reception at 06 pm for the welcome meeting, he can also arrange for a group dinner at the main square Jemaa Lefna.

Day 2 : Marrakech - Imlil - Trek to Toubkal camp via Aremd.

Today, you leave Marrakech behind and drive towards the village of Imlil (1750m). Here you leave your vehicle, you meet your cook and mule handlers and begin your trek, heading along the Mizane Valley, first towards the village of Aremd (1900m) and then onto the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch. Which is a pre-Islamic marabout shrine located at 2350 m, it attracts tourists and pilgrims alike, however, only Muslims are allowed to cross the stone bridge to visit the marabout shrine itself.
After your picnic lunch in the valley, you continue your hike following the steady and zigzagging trail to reach the Neltner Refuge (3,207 m). The rooms are basic dorm rooms with bunk beds with shared toilets and showers, besides a dining room and large lounge area. Approx. 06hours walk/01h30 Drive.

Day 3 : Trek to summit of Jebel Toubkal (4165m)

This morning, you start an early hike to the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. The walking is relatively straightforward, but the scree and the altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts, however, the views along the way make the journey more than worthwhile. After your last stop in the pass of Toubkal 4000m, only a short walk left to reach the rooftop of North Africa.
The view across the surrounding landscape is quite breathtaking. From Marrakech Plain to the High Atlas in the north and as far south as the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. After half an hour break at the peak, you return down the mountain and head back towards the village of Armed with a picnic lunch on the way. Your stay in Armed is a traditional Berber village house with shared facilities. Approx. 12 hours walk.

Day 4 : Armed - Imlil– Marrakech, Free Afternoon

After breakfast, you say goodbye to your cook and mule handlers and return on foot to Imlil (1740m). Drive back to Marrakech. The city is divided into two distinct parts, the Gueliz (or modern French-built city) and the Medina (the Old City) and you may prefer to spend your final afternoon independently exploring its maze of narrow streets, filled with the sounds, colors and smells of the exotic, perhaps haggling for some last-minute presents, or just sitting in a café and watching the street tableaux unfold before you.
If you wish to an afternoon guided tour of Marrakech, you just let us know in advance. 45 minutes walk / 01h30 Drive.

Day 5 : Trip ends Marrakech.

Your 'Toubkal Express trek’ ends after breakfast. Check out time is usually around 12 pm, but you’re free to leave any time before. Additional accommodation can be pre-booked if you wish to spend more time exploring Marrakech (subject to availability).
