Itinerary of the tour
Day 1 : Marrakech - Ksar Ait Benhaddou-Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Agdez
Departure from Marrakech via Col Tichka crossing the Great Atlas where we will discover the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, located near Ouarzazate, Hollywood in Morocco. Visit the kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a jewel of the region, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. It is a fortified town with beautiful crenellated and decorated towers, one of the most beautiful in the Atlas Berber region. Then continue to Ouarzazate where you will have lunch and visit another interesting fortified kasbah located in the heart of Ouarzazate. Head towards the Draa palm grove, and you will enter the Draa Valley, where there is an immense green snake of about 250 km that penetrates the desert and that will lead you to the downtown in the palm grove of "Tamnougalte" where the movie of the Protective sky was filmed. Day 2 : Agdez - Nekob - Rissani - Merzouga Desert.
After breakfast, you take a walk through the typical kasbahs of Tamnougalte, whose exuberant vegetation enhances the secret kasbahs. From here you continue your way to the desert and you will take a road that was used by the commercial caravans that cross the Anti Atlas of Tafilalet to the Draa Valley where you will see landscapes of ocher colors and contrasts, red, mauve and black desert Hamadas. You will find rocky plateaus where the camels graze. After a journey full of desert landscapes, oases and palm trees you will arrive at Rissani. Stop for a panoramic visit in its famous market for a mint tea and then continue the route through the desert towards the Erg Chebbi dunes. Arrival at the hotel and on the back of the camels you take a 1h30 trip through the great dunes of Morocco and watch the sunset. You spend a great night at the camp where will enjoy a music played by the camp staff. Meals: B, D
Day 3 : Merzouga - Khamlia - Erfoud - Todra Gorge/ home hosted lunch - Dades Valley
It's time to get up early to enjoy unique experience to contemplate the majestic sunrise in the desert, a spectacle of light and silence that will impress us. After sunrise you will go down again to the hotel for shower and have breakfast, head to Khamlia, a remote desert village. This region is known for the ritual songs of its Gnawa musicians, and will get the chance to hear their melodic chants during a live performance. Stop at Berber house to discover their way of life. Then continue to Erfoud and Jorf, stop to see one of the old irrigation systems used to be in this area known as Khattaras. Then take the road to the Todra Gorges whose walls narrow and rise, increasingly abrupt and reach 300 m in height. Once visited this spectacular landscape we will have a lunch with Berber family then continue to the Valley of Dades. Meals: B, L, D
Day 4 : Dades Valley - Valley of Roses - Palm Grove of Skoura – Marrakech
Today will be a day back to Marrakech via the Valley of Roses, whose exuberant vegetation values the secret kasbahs. From here you will continue to the palm grove of Skoura via the track of a thousand kasbahs marked by kasbahs and ksour in the middle of date palms whose ocher colored landscape. Arrivals in Ouarzazate and stop for lunch then continue the road to Marrakech. Arrival and check in to your hotel. “End of the tour” Meals: B
